Enterprise Music Scotland currently runs an extensive education programme for schoolchildren and emerging professionals. EMS places education work at the core of its activities and is currently working to extend and develop all areas of education work.
Workshops in primary or secondary schools are given by professional musicians, already in the area as part of a concert tour. Schools from all over Scotland have taken part.
The workshop programme is all-inclusive: all children are welcome whether or not they are learning an instrument. The workshops are tailor-made by the visiting musicians to ensure the workshop is relevant to the level of existing knowledge of the children.
Residency Project.
EMS launched the first pilot Residency Project in 2006 - a two year developmental project for emerging chamber groups based in Scotland. The benefits of the project for the selected ensembles are subsidised concerts, coaching sessions, administrative and mentoring support culminating in a mini-tour of Scotland platforming a specially commissioned new work. The current recipients of the project are:
Alba Quartet
Sax Ecosse
